MARCH FOR OUR LIVES
At the U.S. Social Forum in Summer 2007

This summer the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign member organizations will be caravanning to Atlanta, Georgia for the US Social Forum June 27th-July 1st.

On Friday, June 29th at 3pm EST, the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign will lead a non-violent march themed: "Another World Is Possible, Another US is Necessary - Stop the War Abroad and At Home". We will be marching from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Historical Center to Headquarters of Coca-Cola.

Additionally, we will erect a ‘Bushville’ Tent City to be the base for our involvement with the Social Forum; the tent city will be the location of daily teach-ins, panels, workshops, and performances.  The ‘Bushville’ will also highlight the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, specifically the Right to Water and the Right to Health Care as a statement addressing the health care crisis in the US and the healthcare ramifications of living without access to clean water.  Throughout the week of the forum, we will be taking members of the national and international media, the human rights community, religious leaders and others on Reality Tours of Atlanta and surrounding areas, exposing the plight of Americans living without basic Economic Human Rights.

All of this will be leading toward massive organizing efforts of the poor of all races around the US in building a massive social movement and in involving the poor in the next US presidential Elections. Over the next two years, toward the next US elections and our massive “March for Our Lives” to “End the War at Home,” during the National Republican Convention here in the US, the PPEHRC, will be stepping up our efforts on both the national and international level to highlight for the world the crimes of the Bush administration, to show the world the very deadly "War at Home" that the poor in the US are suffering everyday under the neoliberal model. In September 2008, we will hold a massive March for Our Lives: Stop the War At Home during the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/ Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Bushvilles and Marches of the Poor that the PPEHRC has held during the last two Republican National Conventions, in which George W. Bush was nominated as presidential candidate, (Philadelphia 2000 and New York City 2004), have been the largest Marches of the poor in the USA held during the last two U.S. presidential elections.
